Fiction Competitions

Sponsored by WordSmitten Media, Inc., our two annual fiction
competitions are great writing exercises, fun events for short
story writers, and often a launching platform for debut authors.
WordSmitten discovers great writing and great writers. To sign
up, click (below) on either the TenTen
Fiction Competition (annual deadline is July 1) or the Storycove
Flash Fiction Competition (annual deadline is May 1).
The 2008 Storycove Flash Fiction winner is:
Mukta Singh-Zocchi for her story titled, "A
Fire of Desire"
The 2008 TenTen Short Story winner is:
Lindsay Coppens, Worcester, MA, for her story titled, "Passing
Days"
Finalists for this creative writing event for 2008 are:
Grace Marcus and Alan Sirois, Doylestown, PA, for their co-authored
story titled, "No Show"

Beauty"
George Sheanshang, New York, NY, for his story titled, "New

A recent award-winning short story, written by Maria
Headley, received our TenTen Fiction Award,
then was incorporated into her best-selling book, The Year
of Yes, that broadcasting anchor Katie Couric selected
(while she was on NBC's Today show) as her favorite
book of the year. WordSmitten is always delighted to discover
great writers.
